IGNIS was created out of a need for more practical systems to communicate, distribute, and view intelligence on wildland fires. As firefighters ourselves, we've personally experienced and seen way too many close calls where firefighters are put at extreme and unnecessary risk, where better information and situational awareness could have dramatically altered the outcome.
 
Firefighters put their lives on the line when they're in the field and we believe they deserve the best technology possible. Our mission is to equip wildland firefighters with the tools and technology they need to reduce the number of lives, communities, and natural habitats lost to wildland fires.
